Blog Post 8

 Creating the website was like many of my previous experiences creating websites but it helped me sharpen my creative skills. I have made many websites for school projects but I had never had to embed google calendars within the website. Utilizing calendars has not necessarily been my forte but whenever I do use them it helps me stay organized. I liked the design aspect of creating the website and making sure there was congruence and consistency throughout the website. "mountain"   by  barnyz  is licensed under  CC BY-NC-ND 2.0  Microsoft word is one of the most common word processors that provides its users with an easy to use way to create blogs, posters, brochures, and much more. I have been using word ever since elementary school when I was first assigned a digital writing assignment. I have been able to draft hundreds of essays with it as well as create flyers, a few brochures, and lettering for poster boards. Word is by far the best word processor that I have used and prefer it over pages and Google Docs. The ISTE standards equip teachers for the effective implementation digital strategies that will enhance learning and teaching as well as altering the digital world. One of the standards that stands out to me most is the Facilitator role which empowers kids to take charge of their education.  Using Twitter has not always been a useful experience in that most of the information gathering that I was doing was coming from Google news and various news outlets. Whenever I used Twitter, it seemed like a clunky way to gather inconsistent and rumored material. As of recent, I have been able to use Twitter in a way I actually feel benefits me. Following more Twitter pages that I find interesting has allowed me to get a glance of several social circles that I enjoy. Being able to get early news on new stock market movements and learning about new advances in companies around the world allows me to be more educated in the way I conduct my personal and financial growth. Using Twitter in the future will allow me to stay updated and connect with people as well as update other people on new findings that I might come across.
